Two Election Eve Mildly Amusing Thoughts
1. Love Kerry or hate him, you have to admit that it's logically inconsistent for the Bush campaign to simultaneously proclaim he's both a
horrible coward and a
ravening wolf. So much for Karl Rove's focus on a single message?
2. However, on the other hand, I just saw a Democratic ad (DNC, I believe) that had a list of various things Bush has done that are varying degrees of bad, and then, in the final shot, the text "John Kerry for President" and the man himself. In a silhouette from behind against the setting sun, or something. Are they worried that if they show us his face we'll run away screaming? I suppose I ought to be grateful that they have at least gotten the message that, should we vote him in, we're only going to take the guy on a "good enough for right now" kind of basis. Three cheers for occasionally checking in with the electorate and seeing what we really think.
